The Hawaii County Council passed a resolution to acquire 322 acres of land from Vacationland’s land trust in a 9-0 vote Wednesday.
The resolution authorizes the county to buy the land near the Kapoho tidepools for public access.
The Public Access, Open Space and Natural Resources Preservation Commission ranked the properties as No. 7 on its prioritized list of lands to be acquired.
The land is assessed at about $504,500.
